Esco Labculture® Class II Type A2 Biohazard safety cabinets can be manufactured in a special version suitable for cytotoxic work. The main feature of this modified cabinet is the installation of an ULPA filter immediately below the work surface. This reduces the extent of contaminated areas in the cabinet and makes it possible to safely change the filter without the need for decontamination.

It must be noted that cytotoxic products cannot be decontaminated via conventional means (i.e. formaldehyde, hydrogen peroxide etc.) and therefore all work with cytotoxics must utilize a cabinet such as this which has been designed to allow a safe filter change.
